Hornet Spook Light

Devil’s Promenade

Tri-State Spook Light, Hornet Light, Joplin Spook Light, Spook Light Road, Devil’s Promenade; these are all names given to the sightings of strange lights in northeast Oklahoma near Quapaw, Oklahoma. The lights were officially first reported in 1881 in a publication called the Ozark Spook Light. But many local accounts date back to the late 1800s, where they were already said to be handed down for generations in the local Indian tribes. The following post will go over the tales of origin, person accounts of sightings, research that has been conducted trying to explain these enigma of ghostly lights, and finally location and directions to the Spook Light Road.
